Donna is known as an approachable, down to earth, sensitive, and nonjudgmental therapist. She has walked many journeys with those who have experienced numerous traumas. She is familiar with complex trauma and its many manifestations and is highly trained in trauma therapy. Sensitive to the shame and fear that can arise, Donna approaches treatment gently, supports her clients where they are in their journey, and employs strategies to move her clients forward toward healing and integrity with self and others. Donna has over 25 years’ experience working in the mental health and addictions field. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is also a certified Level II Mental Illness and Substance Abuse counselor and a trained recovery coach. Donna has trained with Doug Weiss and is a certified Sexual Recovery Therapist. Donna has worked with men and women struggling with multiple addictions, as well as victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. As a therapist, Donna’s heart is in her work with the victims of trauma. She is a Level II-certified EMDR therapist and has studied Rapid Resolution Therapy with Jon Connolly. Over time, Donna has specialized in the treatment of betrayal trauma, and employs the Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model to help victims of infidelity and betrayal. She has trained with Barbara Steffens and Carol Juergensen Sheets and is both a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist and a Certified Clinical Empathy Specialist for couples.
